UR4 – Compact UHF RFID reader with strong performance for industrial applications
The UR4 from Chainway is a powerful, compact UHF RFID reader based on the proven CM710-4 module . Designed for industrial environments where reliable RFID reading technology is required, the UR4 offers powerful radio performance in a space-saving design – ideal for inventory control , asset tracking , access control , and automated processes .
It supports the global UHF frequency range (865–868 MHz / 920–925 MHz / 902–928 MHz) according to the EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C standard . With an adjustable transmission power of 30–33 dBm and a high sensitivity of –84 dBm, the reader guarantees reliable detection even under challenging environmental conditions. The reading field can be flexibly expanded and adapted to the respective application via four SMA antenna connectors .
Connection is via RS-232 or Ethernet RJ45 . GPIO ports are also available for control tasks. The UR4 also supports PoE/PoE+ , allowing power to be supplied via the network cable. Alternatively, the reader is powered via a DC input (9–12 V) . A suitable 12 V/2 A power supply is included.
The device features a compact mounting format (24 mm pitch, D3×2 screws) and can therefore be easily integrated into existing systems. A dedicated R2000 interface with RS-232 and RJ45 support is also available, facilitating integration into existing systems.
