Chainway UR4 compact UHF RFID Reader

The UR4 from Chainway is a powerful, compact UHF RFID reader based on the proven CM710-4 module. Designed for industrial environments where reliable RFID reading technology is required, the UR4 offers strong radio performance and a space-saving design – ideal for goods registration, asset tracking, access control, and automated processes.

It supports the global UHF frequency range (865–868 MHz / 920–925 MHz / 902–928 MHz) according to the EPC Class1 Gen2 / ISO18000-6C standard. With adjustable transmit power of 30–33 dBm and high sensitivity of –84 dBm, the reader guarantees reliable detection even in demanding environmental conditions. Four SMA antenna connectors allow flexible expansion of the reading field and adaptation to the respective application.

Connection is made via RS-232 or Ethernet RJ45; additionally, GPIO ports are available for control tasks. The UR4 also supports PoE/PoE+, so power can be supplied via the network cable. Alternatively, the reader is powered via a DC input (9–12 V). A suitable 12 V / 2 A power supply unit is included in the scope of delivery.

The device is equipped with a compact mounting format (24 mm grid, screws D3×2) and can therefore be easily integrated into existing systems. In addition, a dedicated R2000 interface with RS-232 and RJ45 support is available, which facilitates integration into existing systems.
