Mobile UHF RFID Reader for Smartphones and Terminals
The Chainway R6 is a powerful UHF RFID sled reader that adds professional RFID functionality to compatible smartphones and mobile terminals. By combining both devices, it creates a compact solution for inventory, stock control, asset tracking and other mobile data capture processes.
The R6 can be connected to Android and iOS devices. Chainway provides software development kits for both platforms, allowing the RFID reader to be integrated into suitable applications and existing business processes.
Powerful UHF RFID Capture
The integrated UHF module is based on Impinj E Series chips and supports Impinj Gen2X. Compatible RFID tags can be read and written according to EPC Class 1 Gen 2 and ISO 18000 6C.
Chainway specifies a maximum reading rate of more than 1,000 tags per second. Depending on the RFID tags used and the test conditions, reading ranges of more than 26 meters are specified, while the global product page states an outdoor reading range of more than 31 meters. Actual performance depends on the tags, their orientation, the environment and potential sources of interference.
Wireless Connection via Bluetooth 5.0
The connection to a smartphone or mobile terminal is established via Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0. Captured RFID data can therefore be transferred directly to the application being used and processed there.
The intended device holder supports smartphones with a width of 68 to 80 millimeters and a thickness of up to 22 millimeters. Additional mobile devices may be used depending on the protective case or a suitable mounting solution. Compatibility with the intended mobile device should be checked before ordering.
Optional Barcode and QR Code Scanning
Depending on the selected configuration, the Chainway R6 can also be equipped with a scan engine for 1D and 2D barcodes. This allows RFID tags, traditional barcodes and QR codes to be captured using one mobile system.
Barcode functionality is optional and should only be listed as included in the technical specifications if the offered configuration actually contains the corresponding scan module.
Replaceable Battery and Rugged Construction
The replaceable battery has a capacity of 5,200 mAh and is charged via USB Type C. Chainway specifies a standby time of more than 70 hours with an active Bluetooth connection. During continuous UHF capture, the stated operating time is up to 2.5 hours under the respective test conditions.
The R6 meets the IP54 protection rating and is designed to withstand repeated drops from heights of up to 1.5 meters onto concrete. The operating temperature range extends from minus 20 to plus 50 degrees Celsius.
